Job description

Are you a Registered Nurse with strong clinical experience who is ready for more responsibility? We are looking for a Clinical Lead to join a well-established nursing home, offering £55,000 per annum and a working pattern that includes three protected supernumerary shifts each week.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Nurse, Clinical Lead or Registered Nurse who wants to progress into leadership without moving completely away from hands‑on nursing.

About the Position

You’ll play a key role in maintaining excellent clinical standards throughout the home, working alongside the Home Manager to support the nursing team and ensure residents receive high-quality, individualised care.

A major benefit of this position is the amount of protected leadership time available. Three shifts each week will be supernumerary, allowing you to focus on clinical oversight, staff development, audits and quality improvement. Your remaining two shifts will be spent working clinically alongside the nursing team.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Taking a lead on clinical standards and best practice across the home
  • Providing guidance, support and leadership to Registered Nurses and Care staff
  • Reviewing care plans, risk assessments and clinical records
  • Monitoring medication practices and ensuring safe clinical procedures
  • Completing audits and identifying opportunities to improve quality of care
  • Supporting Nurses with complex clinical decisions and resident needs
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing members of the clinical team
  • Liaising with GPs, external healthcare professionals and residents' families
  • Maintaining high standards around safeguarding, dignity and resident wellbeing
  • Working alongside the Home Manager to support compliance and regulatory requirements
About You To be considered, you will need:
  • Current registration as an RGN or RMN
  • An active UK NMC PIN
  • Experience working within a nursing home, care home or comparable setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the confidence to support and lead a nursing team
  • A good understanding of care planning, safeguarding and clinical governance
  • Previous Senior Nurse or Clinical Lead experience is desirable
  • A collaborative and approachable leadership style
Hours & Shift Pattern This is a fulltime position working five shifts per week, consisting of:
  • 3 supernumerary leadership shifts
  • 2 clinical/floor-based shifts
  • Some occasional weekend working
Salary & Benefits
  • £55,000 per annum
  • Three protected supernumerary shifts each week
  • Excellent balance between clinical and leadership responsibilities
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Support from an experienced management team
  • Opportunity to directly influence clinical standards within the home
  • Long‑term career development within an established care environment

If you’re an experienced Nurse looking for a position where you’ll be given the time to properly lead and develop a clinical team while still maintaining your hands‑on skills,
