Job summary

Demelza Kent is seeking a Team Lead in Clinical Governance and Quality to drive governance, patient safety and education across services. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse to embed robust systems and promote continuous improvement.

This role is for an experienced Band 6 (or equivalent) registered nurse in children’s or learning disability nursing, with strong leadership and data analysis skills. You will lead incident investigations, audits and policy development, guiding staff across

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with Children’s or Learning Disability registration and degree-level education.
• Experience in clinical governance, patient safety, risk management, audit and quality improvement.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into practical improvements.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks including safeguarding, CQC standards and PSIRF.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support incident reporting, investigations and organisational learning per PSIRF.
• Analyse quality and safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide clinical teaching, coaching and support to staff to ensure safe practice.
• Line manage Practice Development Nurses and support education and development programmes.
• Lead clinical audit activity and translate learning into improvements.
• Support policy development, governance processes and QA systems.
• Promote a culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement.
