Job summary

Demelza Kent is seeking a Team Lead for Clinical Governance & Quality to drive patient safety and governance across services. You will lead incident investigations, analyse data for trends, and provide practical teaching to staff while supporting the development of education and QA programmes.

The role requires a Band 6 equivalent Registered Nurse with experience in children’s or learning disability nursing, and a commitment to safeguarding, PSIRF and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Children’s or Learning Disability Nurse with degree-level education.
• Experience of clinical governance, patient safety, risk management, audit and quality improvement.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong communication skills, confidence in report-writing and ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Capability to analyse data and turn insights into practical improvements.
• Knowledge of national governance frameworks, including safeguarding, CQC standards and PSIRF.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support incident reporting, investigations and organisational learning in line with PSIRF.
• Analyse quality and safety data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide hands‑on clinical teaching, coaching and support to staff, ensuring safe practice.
• Line manage Practice Development Nurses and support education and development programmes.
• Lead clinical audit activity and translate learning into improvements.
• Support policy development, governance processes and quality assurance systems.
• Promote a positive culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement.
