An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in either Cardiac or Thoracic Surgery to join our team for a period of 12-24 months.
Our team is part of one of the largest cardiothoracic programmes in the UK, undertaking approximately 1300 open heart procedures and 1200 thoracic procedures annually. We are also one of the UK's largest robotic thoracic centres. The unit performs heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support (Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service), and adult congenital cardiac surgery (Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service).

Responsibilities include pre-operative assessment, surgical care, and post-operative care of cardiac and thoracic patients. The role involves attendance at outpatient clinics, MDT meetings, ward rounds, and elective and emergency surgeries. The post holder will participate in the full shift out-of-hours rota.
This position is suitable for doctors seeking more clinical experience in cardiac or thoracic surgery before applying for a National Training Number, or for more experienced applicants pursuing CESR.
