Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde seeks a Clinical Engineer Associate Practitioner (Medical Physics) at New Victoria Hospital to support safe use of medical equipment across clinical services. You will join the Medical Equipment Management team to maintain, repair, commission and decommission devices, contributing to patient care and technology-driven service delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technology knowledge to SCQF Level 8.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic and general engineering principles.
• Experience of service, repair and fault finding of electronic or electrical systems.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance, inspection and testing of low-risk medical devices.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs using approved procedures and test equipment.
• Commission, install and acceptance test new medical equipment to ensure safety.
• Decommission medical devices in line with policies.
• Maintain accurate records on the Asset Management System and ensure governance compliance.
• Support responses to safety alerts and other equipment-related actions.
• Collaborate with clinical colleagues, suppliers and technical staff while contributing to service improvement and staff training.
