Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a Clinical Engineer Associate Practitioner (Medical Physics) at New Victoria Hospital to support the safe use of medical equipment across clinical services.

You will join the Medical Equipment Management team, carrying out maintenance, fault finding and commissioning to ensure devices are safe for patient care. A strong focus on governance, documentation and continuous learning remains essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technology knowledge to SCQF Level 8.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic and general engineering principles
• Experience of the service, repair and fault finding of electronic or electrical systems.
• Good organisational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspection and testing of low-risk medical devices
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs using approved procedures, test equipment and service documentation
• Commission, install and acceptance test new medical equipment to ensure it is safe for clinical use
• Decommission medical devices in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate records on the Asset Management System and ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements
• Support responses to safety alerts, field safety notices and other equipment‑related actions
• Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues, suppliers and technical staff while contributing to service improvement and staff training activities
