Job summary
You will join the Musculoskeletal Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals as a Clinical Educator, driving evidence-based nursing education and clinical governance across teams.
The role involves developing practice, delivering training, mentoring staff, and supporting the management to maintain high-quality patient care within musculoskeletal wards and departments.
Qualifications
- 1st Level Registered Nurse with valid NMC.
- Accredited educational qualification or equivalent.
- Academic achievement or working towards Degree level of study.
- To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
- 1st Level Degree or equivalent or working towards one
- Experience of delivering clinical education and training programmes
- Ward/unit level managerial experience - coordinator role
- Experience of delivering Trust mandatory training sessions and maintaining compliance standards
- Experience of supporting staff wellbeing initiatives, restorative clinical supervision
- Evidence of relevant post basic training and continuous professional development
- Ability to communicate effectively including active listening, writing, and verbally, with individuals on a one to one basis, with groups, and the multidisciplinary team
- Good understanding of the national strategic context of the NHS
- Excellent performance management skills
- Highly developed leadership skills with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form positive relationships at all levels.

- Work with the management team to ensure highest standard and quality of nursing care are effectively delivered to a diverse range of patients and relatives within the Musculoskeletal Care Group.
- To act as a role model and teacher, providing mentorship and support, demonstrating exemplary practice to all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team.

We have a vacancy for a Clinical Educator within the Musculoskeletal Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
The post holder will be involved in the continued development of evidence-based care nursing practice within the Musculoskeletal Care Group. They will use their expertise to provide educational support and act as a resource for senior and junior staff and members of the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating a commitment to nursing care philosophy through a framework of clinical governance.

Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

- 1st Level Registered Nurse with valid NMC

- Relevant experience working at AFC Band 5 / 6 in an MSK/Orthopaedic clinical setting

- Experience of delivering clinical education and training programmes
- Experience of facilitating induction, preceptorship and ongoing development of registered and unregistered staff
- Completed NMC recognised mentor qualification, or plan to complete
- Ward/unit level managerial experience - coordinator role
- Experience of delivering Trust mandatory training sessions and maintaining compliance standards
- Experience of supporting staff wellbeing initiatives, restorative clinical supervision
