This is an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Directorate as a Clinical Education Manager, leading and shaping the delivery of high-quality clinical education across a diverse and dynamic region.

We are looking for an experienced clinical education leader, or an aspiring senior leader ready for a development opportunity, who is passionate about developing people, improving education quality and supporting excellent patient care. In this pivotal role, you will provide senior leadership to multi-disciplinary education teams across Clinical Education, EOC Education and Driving Education, ensuring our people are confident, competent and supported to deliver safe, effective care.

The role combines strategic leadership with operational delivery. You will be responsible for developing and delivering regional education plans, supporting statutory and mandatory training compliance, overseeing onboarding activity, providing assurance on education quality and working closely with operational colleagues across multiple counties.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Education Manager will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of the regional clinical education service across Clinical Education, EOC Education and Driving Education.

The post holder will lead multi-disciplinary education teams across multiple counties, ensuring effective delivery of clinical education, statutory and mandatory training, onboarding activity and workforce development priorities. They will provide senior leadership to Education Team Leaders and specialist education leads, supporting staff performance, development, wellbeing and professional standards.

The role will be clinically accountable for the safety, quality and professional standards of education delivered within the region. This will include ensuring education is evidence based, aligned to Trust clinical guidance and delivered by competent and supported educators.

The role will require strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, particularly when working with senior operational colleagues, education teams, learners and external partners to resolve competing priorities and ensure education delivery remains safe, effective and responsive to organisational need.

Person specification

Education and Qualifications

• Relevant adult teaching qualification, e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent
• Academic attainment at a minimum of Degree (level 6) qualification Level, with evidence of postgraduate level education
• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to clinical education, professional practice, leadership and management.
• Management or leadership qualification
• Membership of the relevant professional body (e.g. College of Paramedics)
• Master’s degree or working towards a master’s level qualification in education, leadership, healthcare, workforce development or a related subject
• Specialist clinical education, simulation, assessment or practice education qualification

Previous Experience

• Significant senior experience in clinical education, workforce development or professional development within a healthcare setting
• Significant experience of leading and managing teams, including management through direct report managers or specialist leads
• Experience of managing education delivery across multiple sites, services or geographical areas
• Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating education delivery plans
• Experience of managing statutory and mandatory education compliance, onboarding or workforce capability programmes
• Experience of clinical education governance, risk management, quality assurance or investigation processes
• Experience in an ambulance service or pre-hospital care setting
• Experience of working with universities, education providers, awarding bodies or regional education networks
• Experience of business case development, service redesign or organisational change
