Responsibilities

Job overview

In this pivotal role, you will work as an autonomous practitioner, delivering high-quality clinical telephone assessments to patients with complex needs. Using advanced clinical judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, you will provide safe, evidence-based advice and support to patients and colleagues alike.

You will play a key role in supporting and leading multiple critical workstreams, including Clinical Navigation, remote consultations, and dispatch stack safety. You will also provide senior clinical oversight across triage platforms such as PaCCS, and GoodSAM, ensuring consistent, high-quality care and promoting alternative care pathways to reduce unnecessary ambulance dispatches.

This is a fantastic secondment/fixed term opportunity to contribute to service improvement, mentor and support Clinical Advisors, and help shape the future of urgent and emergency care delivery. You’ll also be involved in quality improvement projects, compliance monitoring, and the development of clinical strategies that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Main duties of the job

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and practices of the Trust, which may be amended from time to time. Patient Safety is a key priority for the Trust.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully compliant with EMAS policies and procedures in respect of patient safety, for example Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
