An exciting opportunity is available for a Duty Manager to join our team at the prestigious King Edward VII’s Hospital. The Duty Manager supports the senior leadership team in the safe and effective running of the hospital 24/7 and has responsibilities including coordinating patient flow, responding to major incident situations, holding Fire Officer responsibility, and providing senior support to clinical and non-clinical departments. The role also involves supporting the unplanned admissions pathway to ensure seamless patient referral and admission.
This position requires an experienced duty manager or an experienced nurse at sister/charge nurse/ward manager level seeking a new challenge. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to promote excellence, safety, and high-quality patient care, while ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Stay updated with nursing developments, promote policy compliance, and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement using audits and feedback.
Ensure proper medication management, support clinical care including phlebotomy, cannulation, IV drug administration, and liaise with medical teams to ensure appropriate patient care.
Maintain duty rotas, support investigations into incidents and complaints, attend relevant meetings, and ensure a safe working environment in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Engage in continuous learning and attend relevant courses to maintain and enhance skills.
Monitor KPIs, ensure resource efficiency, policy compliance, patient satisfaction, and adherence to guidelines like NICE.
