Job summary

We are seeking a Domestic Assistant to join Sodexo at Whitton Clinic Ipswich. You will help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors, supporting health and wellbeing in a hospital setting.

The role involves cleaning tasks, adherence to COSHH and safety guidelines, and teamwork to maintain high standards. 6-month fixed-term contract, 10 hours per week, evenings, with parking and a Blue Light Card as benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and health & safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with national cleaning specifications.
• Complete discharge, deep-clean, and infection-control cleaning tasks as required.
• Follow cleaning schedules, complete documentation, and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations.
• Report faulty equipment, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly.
• Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment, and stock levels are maintained and organised.
• Remove and dispose of general and clinical waste correctly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a safe and welcoming environment.
• Follow health & safety, safeguarding, infection prevention, and confidentiality requirements.
