Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Domestic Assistant at Constantine House in Ipswich. This part-time role involves evening shifts (15 hours weekly) focused on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors. You will follow COSHH and health & safety standards, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and maintenance, with knowledge of cleaning methods.
• Familiar with COSHH and health & safety practices.
• GCSE English and Maths required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning tasks: mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal, replenishing supplies.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards per national guidelines.
• Complete discharge, deep-clean and infection-control tasks as needed.
• Follow cleaning schedules and document procedures, ensuring COSHH compliance.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and report faults or hazards promptly.
• Manage stock levels and keep cleaning cupboards organised.
• Dispose of general and clinical waste correctly and work with the team to keep areas safe.
