The University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Clinical Director to lead on all clinical aspects of our MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
We are looking for a Sport and Exercise Medicine specialist with an established track record of research and delivery of postgraduate clinical education alongside their clinical expertise.
Our MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine together with our MSc Sports Physiotherapy and new MSc Football Medicine programmes combine online learning with residential teaching weeks, and these courses are specifically designed to accommodate the professional development needs of practicing doctors and physiotherapists with an interest in sport and exercise.
These programmes are established within the PG education landscape and are well respected for their academic rigour and strong emphasis on reflective practice.
Working alongside the Clinical Director of Football Medicine, the successful applicant will have responsibility for the coordination of clinical teaching during residential teaching weeks, along with an oversight of the clinical content of the online academic units on the Sport and Exercise Medicine course.
The teaching responsibilities will be centred around clinical examination skills and case management, career development and evidence-based practice.
The role will also include the co-ordination of a team of Professional Development Advisors to support students through developing their clinical experience and expertise within Sport and Exercise Medicine.
The Clinical Director will be involved in ongoing development of the programme and its promotion nationally and internationally.
Alongside their Clinical Directorship of the Sport and Exercise Medicine course we are also looking for the successful candidate to contribute of our strong research profile in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
The candidate will join the UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport (UKCCIIS) and contribute to our track record for research that has helped to enhance athlete health and prevent injuries in sport.

We are currently ranked 13th in the International QS rankings for sport-related subjects and 98% of our research in sport and exercise sciences, leisure and tourism was considered world-leading or internationally excellent in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework exercise.
We host a very successful suite of undergraduate courses (BSc and MSci Sport and Exercise Science, BSc Health and Exercise Science, BSc Sport Management and Coaching and FdSc/BSc Sport Performance) and alongside our clinical MSc courses outlined above we provide campus based MScs in Sport Management and Global Public Health and Policy.
These courses complement our impactful research which is organised around three themes: Lifelong Health and Wellbeing, Improving Human Function, and a Fair and Vibrant Society.
Notably for this position we are part of the IOC UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport.
This is a 0.4 FTE role, and we are interested in applications from licensed and practicing Medical Doctors only.
