Job summary

Maplebrook Care Home in Wolverhampton is seeking a Clinical Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN) to lead clinical governance and high-quality care delivery. You will work closely with the Home Manager to drive standards, manage care planning, medication safety and risk, and mentor the nursing team.

The role is a senior leadership post with a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday core hours, and benefits including paid DBS, pension, uniform, and NMC fees. Applicants must hold a valid NMC PIN.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience within a care setting.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Experience in clinical governance, audits and compliance.
• Ability to support, mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance, care planning, medication management and risk.
• Monitor performance, carry out audits, support inspections and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands-on leadership to nursing and care teams; mentor staff.
• Act as Deputy to the Home Manager and oversee the service in their absence.

Maplebrook Care Home is a modern, purpose built home in Wolverhampton, providing high quality residential and specialist care for up to 81 residents within a supportive and welcoming environment.

Clinical Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN) Contract

• £50,000 - £54,000 Depending on experience
• Contracted to 40 hours per week, Paid Breaks
• Mainly Monday to Friday 9AM-5PM although felxibility required.
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
• Paid NMC fees

Ongoing training, clinical development and clear progression into Home Manager roles, supported by experienced senior leadership and regional teams within a well structured and high performing environment.

Role Overview

As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership and performance of the home, working in close partnership with the Home Manager to drive clinical excellence, regulatory compliance and high quality care delivery. This is a senior leadership position where you will take responsibility for the clinical oversight of the service and ensure standards are consistently achieved and sustained.

You will lead on all aspects of clinical governance, care planning, medication management and risk, ensuring care is safe, effective and person centred. You will monitor performance, carry out audits, support inspections and take ownership of continuous improvement, ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

You will provide visible, hands on leadership to the nursing and care teams, supporting, mentoring and developing staff to deliver high quality outcomes. Acting as Deputy to the Home Manager, you will confidently oversee the service in their absence, manage day to day operations and make informed decisions that support both residents and staff.
