Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Harrow is seeking a Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist to provide high-quality psychological care. The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) at Cygnet Hospital Harrow, with a salary up to £65,000 per year depending on experience, plus extensive benefits.

You will carry out psychological assessments, deliver therapy to individuals and groups, work systemically with staff and service users, and contribute to risk management and service development within a multidisciplinary

Cygnet Hospital Harrow

Cygnet Hospital Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Your day-to-day

• Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
• Work systemically with staff, as well as directly with service users
• Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group
• Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team
• Support the clinical, nursing & direct care teams in making skilled evaluations & decisions about risk
• Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research

We are looking for someone who is

• An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group
• Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles
• Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT
• Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
• Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems
• An excellent communicator
