If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the commissioning team at Barts Health NHS Trust, as the Clinical Commissioning Pharmacist. We are looking for an ambitious individual who will deliver value for money from medicines use. They will work collaboratively with the London Specialised Commissioning Team (SCT) NHS England (NHSE), Barts Health NHS Trust and North-East London (NEL) ICS colleagues to promote patient safety, achieve better outcomes and improve value from the use of High-Cost Drugs (HCDs).The post holder will ensure appropriate implementation and monitoring of HCDs, demonstrating excellent leadership skills, and should be confident in working with and influencing senior colleagues including finance, commissioners, and clinicians. Working closely with the pharmacy systems analyst, they will also help improve data quality and accuracy of HCD data. As a key member of the NEL Sub-regional Immunoglobulin assessment panel, they have a pivotal role in ensuring appropriate Immunoglobulin stewardship.We welcome applications from individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can work collaboratively across the system. Main duties of the job

o Identifying and facilitating the implementation of QIPP / improving value and medicines optimisation programmes for high-cost drugs and sharing schemes with other local trusts to ensure consistency across the health economyo Implementing and managing the processes for approval, appropriate use and audit of high-cost medicines associated with specialised services.o Ensuring that treatments supported by NICE Technology Appraisal Guidance (TAG) and the Clinical Priorities Advisory Group) (CPAG) for NHSE commissioned HCDs are implemented within the Trust according to the published recommendations.o Providing professional and independent advice to the London SCT pharmacy lead, Barts Health Lead Pharmacist, Medicines Commissioning & Pathways pharmacist and other commissioners and system partners and Trust directorates to ensure relevant financial and implementation issues for NICE TAGs/CPAG policies are identified and articulated at an early stage.o Supporting the SCT pharmacy lead and Barts Health Lead Pharmacist, Medicines Commissioning & Pathways pharmacist during the business planning and contracting process for HCDs including the adoption of commissioning policies and protocols for those high-cost treatments that sit outside NICE recommendationso To provide an effective interface between commissioners (NHSE) and providers in the local healtho To provide leadership and support to the Sub Regional Immunoglobulin assessment panel (SR-IAP)
