Qualifications

• Significant coding experience in an acute Trust or equivalent setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and OPCS 4.
• Demonstrated medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Knowledge of Patient information systems and NHS data standards.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and analyse clinical information to assign ICD-10/OPCS-4 codes across episodes of care.
• Maintain accuracy and update coding manuals when changes arise.
• Support training, audits and mentoring within the coding team.
• Provide clear, timely coding data to support commissioning and governance.
