An established healthcare provider is seeking a Clinical Coder / Care Navigator to join their supportive team. The Garth Surgery is looking for a Clinical Coder / Care Navigator to join our friendly team.
This is a dual role split equally across each working day (we know that coding for a full day can be hard going plus we like to offer variation and job satisfaction)
Medical terminology and an existing understanding of read coding is essential for this role. You will identify information from documentation to be added to the clinical system, often linking in with other clinicians and the pharmacy/prescription team.
We have protocols that we follow and you will be trained to do so by our experienced coder.
The Garth Surgery is a supportive place to work, we have a friendly team and participate in practice team building and social events. We are a partnership of 6 GP's, 1 Salaried GP, 3 ANP's, 3 PN's 2 Nursing associates, 1 HCA and 1 Phlebotomist plus lots of other healthcare providers that attend the surgery to provide care to patients via our Primary Care Network (East Cleveland PCN)
The following are the core responsibilities of the clinical coder.
a. Accurately read-coding data into the patient record
b. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions
c. Input and extract data as required to support practice reports
d. Action all incoming emails and mail in a timely manner
e. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
f. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
g. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
h. Carry out system searches as requested
i. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
j. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
