Job summary

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust's Peterborough City Hospital site is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Technical Officer (Band 3) to join the Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology laboratories. You will assist in specimen receipt, prepare samples for analysis, operate analyzers, perform routine maintenance, and support training of staff within the department.

We are an IBMS accredited training laboratory committed to education, development, and ISO15189 standards.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including science.
• Desirable NVQ or equivalent in laboratory or science.
• Able to type accurately and work within a team.
• Competent with MS Outlook/Word/Excel is an advantage.
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Receipt of pathology specimens and preparation for analysis.
• Run analysers and perform required maintenance.
• Process patient samples under Biomedical Scientist guidance.
• Assist in training staff within the department.
