Job summary

Springwood Lodge, operated by Elysium Health care, seeks a Clinical Associate Psychologist to deliver evidence-based psychological care within an inpatient MDT setting near Leeds. You will assess, formulate, and provide individual and group interventions under supervision to support recovery and wellbeing.

You will engage with service users, contribute to staff training, and participate in governance, audits, and research while managing a demanding caseload with compassionate engagement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist with relevant registration.
• Experience with personality disorders and mental health difficulties.
• Experience delivering one-to-one psychological interventions.

Job description

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with complex mental health needs and delivering high-quality psychological care? Join Springwood Lodge as a Clinical Associate Psychologist and work with our multidisciplinary team, helping to provide evidence-based assessment, formulation, and intervention within an inpatient setting.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with service users, psychology colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality psychological support and contribute to positive recovery outcomes. You will manage your own caseload, undertaking psychological assessments, developing formulations, and delivering a range of evidence-based individual and group interventions in line with NICE guidance.

Working under the supervision of an experienced HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while working with individuals presenting with complex psychological and mental health needs. You will use a variety of assessment methods, including psychometric measures, structured observations, and clinical interviews, to develop a comprehensive understanding of service users' needs and inform therapeutic interventions.

As part of the role, you will provide psychological consultation and advice to colleagues, contribute to multidisciplinary discussions, and support psychologically informed care across the service. You will also play an active part in staff training, service development, clinical governance, audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives, helping to shape and enhance the care we provide.

This role requires someone who is resilient, compassionate, and able to work effectively in emotionally demanding environments. You will work with individuals who may experience significant psychological distress, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, substance misuse, and other complex presentations, requiring strong communication, risk assessment, and therapeutic engagement skills.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential

• Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist.
• Experience of working with service users with personality disorders and/or mental health difficulties.
• Experience of delivering one-to-one psychological interventions.
• Experience of working within an MDT.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build rapport, communicate empathically and sensitively in a manner appropriate to the context and recipient.

Desirable

• Experience of delivering psychological groups.
• Experience of delivering DBT, CFT and/or CBT.
