Job summary

Rhodes Wood Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychologist to join their CAMHS Eating Disorders service in Hatfield. You will carry a caseload, conduct assessments, and deliver specialist psychological treatments to support care plans.

You will work under the Therapy Lead, engaging in MDT activities, staff reflective practice, and training delivery, with ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• Must have BPS recognised psychology degrees and HCPC registration.
• Chartered Psychologist status is preferred.
• Post-graduate qualifications required.
• Approved supervisor within BPS guidelines.
• Experience applying psychological knowledge in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Participating in assessment of referrals and provide initial assessments.
• Conduct high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect interventions.
• Work with service users with complex presentations using structured methods.
• Formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment.
• Be professionally accountable for clinical work and care.
• Maintain high standards of care in line with HCPC Code and policies.

Reporting directly to the Therapy Lead, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.

As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

As a Psychologist you will be:

• Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
• Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
• Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
• Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
• Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
• Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct,professional guidelinesand Company Policies and Procedures.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Have BPS recognised psychology degrees
• Be HCPC registered
• Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
• Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
• Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
• Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinicial setting.
• Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
• Have previous experience of conducting research and project working

Rhodes Wood Hospital is a specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder service for children and young people aged 8 up to 18 years. Each treatment programme is tailored to the needs of the young person.
