Elysium Healthcare Limited is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist for Crossley Place Rainhill. The role is part-time (22.5 hours/week) and focuses on delivering specialist psychological assessments, trauma-focused interventions and leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

You will lead formulation-led care, supervise staff, and contribute to trauma-informed practice across the service, supporting women with complex mental health needs and trauma histories.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist is required.
• Experience with trauma-informed services and trauma-focused interventions (EMDR, TF-CBT) is essential.
• Experience providing psychological leadership, consultation and training within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong formulation skills for work with complex trauma and severe mental illness.

Job description

Introduction

This is a part time role working 22.5 hours per week.

You will be working at Crossley Place, a Level 2 rehabilitation service providing specialised care for women with complex needs arising from serious and enduring mental health difficulties. Crossley Place is committed to delivering psychologically informed, trauma-informed care that recognises the impact of adverse life experiences and supports women in their recovery within a safe, therapeutic and compassionate environment.

Reporting to the Hospital Director, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic and clinical developments across the service through the provision of specialist psychological knowledge, consultation and leadership.

You will lead and oversee the provision of psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, whilst providing supervision, consultation and training to multidisciplinary staff. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting the continued development of a trauma-informed culture across the service and ensuring staff understand and apply trauma-informed principles in their day-to-day practice.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a designated caseload, undertaking specialist psychological assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs. Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and working with the psychological impact of trauma is essential.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist you will be:

• Deliver strategic and clinical initiatives to further develop the care pathway.
• Identify opportunities to develop and enhance services for service users.
• Ensure all psychological and non-medical therapeutic approaches are formulation-led, evidence-based and routinely evaluated for effectiveness.
• Support and embed a trauma-informed model of care across the service.
• Undertake specialist psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based trauma-focused interventions appropriate to the needs of service users.
• Provide consultation, supervision, reflective practice and training to members of psychology department and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure all members of the multidisciplinary team understand the psychological framework underpinning the service model and have access to the specialist skills required to work effectively with service users presenting with complex trauma and mental health needs.

Crossley Place has a strong commitment to trauma-informed care and is seeking a psychologist who is passionate about helping women understand, process and recover from the impact of trauma through formulation-led, evidence-based interventions.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (desirable).
• Evidence of engagement with professional and mental health networks.
• Experience of working within trauma-informed services and delivering trauma-focused interventions, such as EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT or other evidence-based trauma therapies.
• Experience of providing psychological leadership, consultation and training within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong formulation skills and experience working with individuals presenting with complex trauma, attachment difficulties and severe mental illness.
