Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London is seeking a Senior Communications and Policy Manager to lead climate and environment communications, public affairs and policy engagement. You will shape outreach, convene events, and deliver strategic communications to influence government, civil society and industry stakeholders.

You will work with researchers and policy experts to extend ODI’s reach, test new messaging, and ensure coherence across digital, media, events and publications while

Qualifications

• Track record delivering influential public affairs and policy strategies.
• Experience leading strategic communications to influence policy outcomes.
• Knowledge of climate, environment and related policy debates.
• Experience engaging with senior external stakeholders in UK/EU/international.
• Excellent writing and adaptation for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of a communications strategy for climate and environment.
• Develop creative engagement and events plans to reach target audiences.
• Build priority audiences and strengthen engagement approaches.
• Coordinate with PAC to deliver blogs, social content and newsletters.
• Ensure comms activities are budgeted and resourced in proposals.
• Measure impact and adapt approaches based on feedback.
• Build internal/external relationships to drive policy influence.
• Provide vision and strategic direction across the portfolio.
