Job summary

Personnel Selection is recruiting a permanent Workshop Engineer & Driver for a rapidly expanding company based at its headquarters near Fleet. You will service and maintain climate-control power systems and ensure timely delivery to customers.

This varied role combines hands-on workshop work with deliveries, collections and on-site support. We are seeking a technically minded, reliable team member with a can-do attitude who enjoys variety and is eager to learn or grow.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical/technical ability.
• Willingness to learn basic electrical concepts.
• Strong attention to detail with safety focus.
• Clear communication with customers.
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to manage varied tasks.
• Able to work independently and with others.
• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to meet operational needs.
• Experience in equipment hire, construction or engineering.
• PAT testing experience.
• Forklift licence would be preferred (refreshers available).
• Experience driving long-wheelbase vans.
• Knowledge of temporary power or climate-control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and maintain climate-control and power equipment.
• Carry out PAT and electrical safety checks.
• Prepare and test equipment before dispatch.
• Assess returned equipment for servicing or repairs.
• Assist with fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Maintain accurate workshop records.
• Load/unload company vehicles safely.
• Move and store equipment securely.
• Assist with stock control and stock takes.
• Keep workshop and warehouse areas clean, organised and safe.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Deliver equipment to and collect from customer sites.
• Complete delivery/collection paperwork accurately.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and help ensure roadworthiness.
• Represent the business professionally on client sites.
• Assist engineers with equipment installations when required.
• Support project deployments and other site activities.
• Follow risk assessments and customer site rules.
• Report issues identified on site.
