Job summary

Symmetry Recruitment is recruiting for a client-side safety representative on major UK construction projects. You will work closely with principal contractors and project teams to uphold high safety standards across complex sites.

Role involves inspections, RAMS reviews, incident investigations, and providing CDM 2015 guidance. Travel and driving licence are expected as part of site coverage.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• IOSH or APS membership and CSCS card.
• Experience on major construction projects such as data centres, logistics, industrial developments, automation or commercial fit-outs.
• Strong practical knowledge of CDM 2015 and construction HS requirements.
• Confidence to challenge unsafe practices and influence site teams.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections, safety walks and audits.
• Review RAMS and Construction Phase Plans, ensuring compliance with controls.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Provide assurance around high-risk works, including lifting operations and steel erection.
• Deliver CDM 2015 advice and support Principal Designer responsibilities where appointed.
• Report safety performance and engage with contractors and client stakeholders.
