Job summary

CSS Recruitment and Training in Birmingham is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to support the entire workforce, including subcontractors, on-site and across UK sites.

You must hold NEBOSH Level 3, have at least five years of HSE experience in new build and M&E environments, and be able to develop RAMS, lead incident investigations, and promote safety across the business. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Proven HSE experience for a minimum of 5 years.
• Experience in new build and M&E construction environments.
• Experience of carrying out health and safety audits.
• Experience of lifting operations and related hazards.
• Ability to create RAMS for complex works.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and standards.
• Experience with incident investigations.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE advice and support to managers and staff across the company.
• Develop strong relationships and promote a culture of engagement and improvement.
• Create safe systems of work (RAMS) and ensure proper application.
• Carry out HSE site inspections and incident investigations.
• Identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
• Attend meetings and cooperate with all staff.
• Deliver toolbox talks and maintain First Aid and spill kit provision.
• Travel to other sites across the UK and liaise with clients.
