Help Lead a Landmark Development Programme

The Royal Armouries is embarking on one of the most ambitious projects in its history, and we're looking for an exceptional Programme Manager to help ensure that our vision is brought to life. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced project professional to help shape a nationally significant development while working at the heart of a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

The Royal Armouries Waterfront (RAW) Programme

will create a major new destination and represents a transformative investment in the future of the museum. As Programme Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring the Client’s needs and requirements are kept in vivid focus throughout the life of the project and that everything is in place to ensure programme objectives are achieved on time, on budget and to the highest standards

You will be the essential connection between the specialist consultant team that will be leading the delivery of the RAW project and the Royal Armouries Client Team, helping to ensure the smooth flow of critical information, managing complex workstreams and interfaces and identifying emerging dependencies, risks and change requirements

Reporting to the Programme Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operational management of the RAW programme and lead the client-side delivery function. You'll coordinate the contributions of consultants, contractors, professional advisers and internal colleagues, ensuring all elements of the programme progress effectively and efficiently.

You will also line manage the Programme Coordinator and help establish the systems, governance structures and reporting frameworks necessary to support successful programme delivery.

Hours

36 hours per week, Mon-Fri. The role will be based in Leeds and will allow for hybrid working between the office and home, although it is envisaged a considerable number of project meetings will be on site.

The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
