Job summary

Lamont Pridmore in Workington is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior / Client Accountant to own a portfolio of owner-managed and family-run businesses, delivering statutory accounts, management reporting and commercial advisory.

You’ll build trusted relationships with clients, interpret financial performance and help businesses plan for the future. The role is office-based, with 8:30-5:00 hours and some travel between Lamont Pridmore offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a client-facing role within an accountancy practice.
• Experience managing a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge gained in practice.
• Commercial mindset with SME awareness; experience with accounts prep software.
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of owner-managed and family businesses as main contact.
• Plan, prepare and review financial accounts within deadlines and budgets.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and half-yearly management reports.
• Present financial information clearly to support client decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and business performance.
• Develop strong client relationships through proactive communication.
• Work with Managing Directors to enhance internal processes and standards.
• Contribute to practice growth through referrals and networking.
