Job Description
Purpose of Role: Working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for managing a portfolio of Invoice Discounting and Factoring clients with funds in use of up to £1m in the Manchester Commercial Team. Ensure delivery of excellent customer service whilst maintaining a strong focus on risk management to preserve low bad debts and maximise client lifetime and income. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships within the company and with our wider network of partners.
Responsibilities: Producing annual reviews and ad hoc reports to a high standard and in line with the company's Credit Policy.
Main Tasks:
- Manage and control a portfolio of 40-50 factoring and invoice discounting clients with funds using up to £3,000,000.
- Minimise the risk of loss by using risk management tools and procedures.
- Maintain understanding of the value of additional security per client.
- Maximise client lifetime by delivering excellent service and implementing additional services where appropriate.
- Maximise income by maintaining correct rates and charging additional fees where appropriate.
- Obtain and review financial information from clients.
- Undertake annual and ad hoc client reviews as required.
- Conduct client visits as needed.
- Source new business opportunities from existing clients.
- Onboard new clients as required.
- Ensure all Governance and Compliance standards are met, including regulatory reporting and reviews.
Standard of Performance:
- Maintain bad debt write-offs within the annual budget.
- Manage collateral performance continuously.
- Maintain good knowledge of and adherence to Risk Factor covenants.
- Prioritise and complete risk-reducing actions promptly; report issues quickly.
- Respond promptly to client audits and act on recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships.
- Achieve additional income targets as per the annual budget.
- Generate new business referrals and asset finance opportunities from existing clients.
- Ensure profitable client relationships.
- Complete annual reviews and client requests accurately and timely, within 10% of portfolio size.
- Document issues discussed during client visits.
- Complete all month-end reporting accurately and promptly.
Risk and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all Governance and Compliance requirements, including regulatory reporting and reviews to required standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Essential: Industry-specific experience including credit & risk exposure; client management; financial analysis; report writing; customer service; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Desirable: Knowledge of RiskFactor; ABFA qualification or studying towards it.
