Job summary

Trial Balance, based in Exeter, is seeking a Senior or Manager to join its respected accountancy practice. The role offers autonomy and a clear path for progression.

You will oversee year-end accounts, tax returns, monthly management accounts and VAT returns, while guiding clients through online accounting transitions. Applicants fully qualified ACA or ACCA are preferred, but part qualified or qualified by experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Ability to provide sound commercial and financial advice to clients.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge up-to-date and applicable.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for year-end accounts and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and VAT returns.

Our client is a successful and well-respected firm, which has established a great reputation across the region. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Senior or Manager to take on a role offering a good degree of autonomy, to be based out of their Exeter office.

The role? You will take responsibility for year-end accounts and tax return preparation, monthly management accounts, VAT return preparation, providing sound commercial and financial advice to your clients, and ensuring that your clients are transitioned to online accounting software. The role will also involve mentoring and supporting the more junior members of the team.

The successful candidate? This role would suit someone fully qualified ACA or ACCA, though my client is also happy to consider applicants who are either part qualified or those who would describe themselves as qualified by experience. Significant experience in an accountancy practice environment is essential, and your technical accounting knowledge should be excellent and fully up to date.
