Job summary

Marks Sattin is partnering with a leading Top 40 accountancy firm in Manchester to recruit a Client Manager. You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of corporate and owner-managed businesses, lead and develop a team of trainees through to seniors, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.

The role requires ACA/ACCA qualification with UK practice experience, strong communication, and a commercial mindset.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with UK practice experience.
• Experience reviewing accounts and tax compliance for corporate clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate and owner-managed clients, acting as their adviser.
• Review and finalise statutory accounts, management accounts and corporate and personal tax returns.
• Lead and develop junior and semi-senior team members.
• Oversee workflow, deadlines, and quality standards.
• Manage portfolio profitability, billing, WIP and recovery rates.
• Identify business development and cross-selling opportunities to support office growth.

Marks Sattin is working with a leading Top 40 accountancy firm to recruit an Client Manager to join its Manchester team following a recent acquisition.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a varied portfolio of corporate and owner-managed businesses, lead and develop a team of trainees through to seniors, and play a key role in the firm's continued growth.

The successful applicant will be a strong communicator and interested in joining an ambitious firm with significant future growth plans over the next 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate and owner-managed clients, acting as their trusted adviser.
• Review and finalise statutory accounts, management accounts and corporate and personal tax returns.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior and semi-senior team members.
• Oversee workflow, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
• Manage portfolio profitability, billing, fee negotiations, WIP and recovery rates.
• Identify business development and cross-selling opportunities to support office growth.

About You

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Proven experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience managing corporate clients and reviewing accounts and tax compliance work.
• Previous experience supervising staff and managing workflows.
• Commercially minded, with excellent communication and client relationship skills.
