Job summary

ASHDOWN GROUP is seeking a Management Accountant to join its close-knit team near Ormskirk. You will own monthly management accounts, provide insightful analysis, and support clients with financial performance and forecasting. The role offers hybrid working with initial office-based duties.

The ideal candidate has accountancy practice experience and ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or progress, with strong budgeting, VAT, and reconciliations knowledge. Excellent communication is key.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong management accounts experience required.
• Qualified or working towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA with understanding of VAT and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet).
• Produce variance analysis and review performance vs budgets and prior periods.
• Prepare VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and monitor cash flow.
• Assist budgeting/forecasting and year-end accounts preparation.
• Engage with clients to explain financial performance and provide insights.
