Our client is a high-end property business focussed on long and short term luxury apartment rentals.

They are looking to hire a Client Accountant to support their continued growth. The key responsibilities are outlined below:

Client Accounting

  • Bank Account Management: Oversee asset-level bank accounts, including Rent, OpEx, CapEx, and Deposit accounts, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Receipts and Reconciliations: Post ad-hoc receipts (e.g., Portal Payments, Deposits) and maintain reconciliations for audit purposes.
  • Refunds and Transactions: Prepare bank refunds and ensure ledgers reflect transactions accurately.
  • Reconciliations: Provide weekly bank reconciliations and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Deposit Oversight: Perform audits to confirm deposit records align with the accounting system.
  • Invoice Reviews: Approve supplier invoices, ensuring correct allocations and adherence to budgets.

Service Charge Management

  • Budgeting Support: Assist in preparing annual budgets for assets and estates, verifying expenditure accuracy.
  • Invoicing: Generate quarterly service charge invoices for landlords and tenants, addressing any related queries.
  • Reconciliation and Adjustments: Process year-end service charge adjustments and apply audit findings as needed.
  • Reporting: Ensure accounts are reconciled and up-to-date for month- and quarter-end reviews.

Ad-Hoc Duties

  • Tenant Ledger Support: Post and reconcile ad-hoc charges and transactions.
  • Commercial Tenant Setup: Set up rent and service charges for commercial tenants.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audit queries and provide supporting documentation.

Key requirements

For this role, it is essential to have client accounting with property management experience, and strong excel skills.
