Client Accountant required to join this medium-sized, very successful accountancy practice in the Accounts & Outsourcing team based in Gerrard's Cross.

The Client Accountant will seek to progress in their career and build on their experience in this role, predominantly handling accounts, advisory, and management reporting for a variety of SME, OMB, and other clients.

The ideal Portfolio Accountant will have proven experience in a similar role, with practical experience managing a portfolio and a team, and will be looking for a rewarding yet challenging position.

The company has a strong track record of supporting Accountants through their studies and providing the necessary support for career growth.

Managing a portfolio, your main tasks will include:

1. Managing the accounting needs of a portfolio of clients, including bookkeeping, preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and working papers for statutory accounts.
2. Proactively managing client onboarding, defining scope of work, agreeing budgets with Directors/Partners, identifying VAT requirements, and setting up the firm as VAT agent.
3. Being responsible for timely billing of clients, with input from senior management or partners.
4. Exhibiting excellent client management skills, as the role involves being the key point of contact for clients.
5. Being competent in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, etc.
6. Holding ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification or studying towards it.
7. Having experience working within a practice is essential.
8. Experience supervising or managing junior staff.
9. Having a broad background in technical VAT issues and detailed management accounts.
10. Possessing a full UK driving license is preferable.
