Job description

At Fisher German, our people and clients are at the heart of what we do. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading Client Accounting Services team in a role where you will join a small accounting team managing the portfolio of the firm’s largest client.

The client is an asset management client with a diverse and active portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring all new assets are onboarded into business as usual with minimal risk to the client and the firm. You will also manage all disposals under your allocation and ensure a proper handover to the new owners of the asset.

The individual will contribute towards overall client relationship management, developing relationships, gaining insights into client priorities, and adapting our services accordingly.

You will act as the key finance representative to all stakeholders, providing financial insights, managing budgets, ensuring sufficient cash levels, and maintaining accurate ledgers to prevent legacy issues.

This includes responsibility for specific ledger balances and financial transactions, reporting data directly to the client with commentary and documentation. You will liaise with external clients and internal teams such as asset and property managers.

You will also handle month-end and quarter-end reporting for your portfolio in a KPI-driven environment.

Duties will include:

1. Processing changes to the property database related to rent and service charge ledgers.
2. Reviewing the trial balance and investigating discrepancies.
3. Generating miscellaneous charges due to changes, ensuring the tenancy schedule is accurate.
4. Acting as a Finance Business Partner to internal stakeholders.

Monthly Tasks:

1. Reporting financial data to clients per KPI requirements.
2. Reviewing bank reconciliations and addressing discrepancies.
3. Understanding the trial balance and posting journals to reflect the true financial position.
4. Ensuring sufficient cash for all legal entities and providing cash flow insights.
5. Managing arrears with the credit controller to resolve tenant queries promptly.
6. Collaborating with stakeholders to meet KPIs and deadlines.
7. Completing all billings for rent, insurance, and charges.
8. Recording rental payments and miscellaneous receipts/payments.
9. Completing reconciliations timely.
10. Maintaining good relationships with onboarding teams for new assets and ensuring proper handover information.

The successful candidate will have...

• Studying towards ACCA/CIMA or have a good understanding of financial statements and the general ledger.
• Experience working with non-finance colleagues.
• Ability to manage a busy workload with limited supervision.
• Property experience is desirable but not essential.
