Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking a proactive Team Coordinator HGV to manage cleansing activities across the city. You will lead cleansing teams, supervise operations, and drive improvements in service standards while coordinating with partners and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The role requires an HGV licence (Class II/C) with CPC/DQC, strong communication and IT skills, and the ability to work to schedules and adapt to changing needs.

Qualifications

• Full valid HGV driving licence (Class II/C) with CPC/DQC card.
• Experience in leading operational teams, ideally in street cleansing or waste management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• IT literacy with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Knowledge of service specifications, requirements and relevant legislation.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage complex problems.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and to equality and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor cleansing activities across the city.
• Provide leadership and support to cleansing teams.
• Undertake cleansing tasks, including driving sweepers and transit vehicles.
• Monitor performance and develop staff in collaboration with the supervisor.
• Work with internal and external partners to improve service standards.
