Job Title: Cleaning Team Leader

Pay Rate: £13.60 per hour

Contract Type: Part Time

Type of Employment: Permanent

Hours: 20 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday (17:00-21:00), Friday (15:00-19:00)

Location: GSK, Harmire Road, Barnard Castle, County Durham, England, DL12 8DT

Job objectives and responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning and servicing designated areas to the standards required by the client and Mitie, efficiently and professionally.
• Carry out cleaning duties as requested by your Team Leader or management.
• Ensure all tasks are performed professionally, following safe work systems and risk assessments.
• Wear the specified PPE at all times.
• Comply with all statutory GSK and Mitie health and safety regulations.
• Follow GSK and Mitie security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment, and buildings.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and work performance.
• Keep GSK myLearning up to date and complete tasks within specified timeframes.
• Report any complaints, incidents, accidents, fire, theft, damage, or irregularities, and take appropriate action.
• Undertake all required training related to cleaning services.
• Complete cleaning schedules as directed by the Team Leader/Deputy.
• Adhere to COSHH requirements as specified by the Team Leader/Deputy.
• Report faults in cleaning machinery/equipment to the Team Leader or Deputy.
• Report building defects to the Mitie Helpdesk.
• Perform any reasonable requests from the Team Leader/Deputy.
• Report near misses following the correct procedures.
• Follow employee absence reporting procedures when sick.

Person specification

• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Good team player, flexible, and able to provide cover in other areas when required.
• Proficient in English to understand instructions, safety signs, SOPs, and training.
