Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an on-site Cleaning Supervisor to coordinate and lead a team of cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will act as the main point of contact for clients and managers on site, support training, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will conduct training inductions, manage supplies, and address on-site challenges to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Experience cleaning in a similar environment or transferable skills.
• Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety compliance on similar sites/environments.
• Experience in training and inducting colleagues.
• Strong communication and client liaison abilities.

Responsibilities

• Be the clients’ and managers’ main point of contact on site.
• Coordinate and drive a team on site, while completing core cleaning duties with the team.
• Support the manager with the training and induction of new staff, and the completion of training records.
• Lead by example, following safe systems of work and method statements.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are performed to a high standard.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality control.
• Manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used efficiently and maintained in good condition.
• Address operational issues to maintain smooth operations.

About The Role:

Working pattern: Monday to Sunday (Tuesday off) - 5am to 7am

Holiday entitlement will be accrued on a pro-rata basis in line with weeks worked.

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be the main point of contact for clients and managers on site. You will coordinate and lead a team of cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will support the training and induction of new staff and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the clients’ and managers’ main point of contact on site
• Coordinate and drive a team on site, while completing core cleaning duties with the team

• Lead by example when completing tasks, following the safe systems of work and method statements

Ideal Candidate Criteria:

• You must have the right to work in the UK
• Demonstrable people skills or experience coordinating a team
• Experience cleaning in a similar environment or transferable skills, knowledge, and understanding
• Understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and Health & Safety compliance on similar sites/environments
• Experience in training and inducting colleagues
• Strong communication skills, essential for client liaison and effective team coordination
• Proactive and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and priorities
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards
