Job summary

Bidvest Noonan is seeking a Bus Shunter/Cleaning Supervisor to oversee nightly cleaning and shuttle operations at our client site in the UK. The role requires leadership of cleaning staff, adherence to safety standards, and managing reports in Agresso/Timegate.

You will ensure buses are fueled, cleaned to standard, and that PPE and uniforms are used correctly. The position offers progression and on-going training within a busy transport support environment.

Qualifications

• UK PCV driving licence is required.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience leading a cleaner team.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Experience in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Fuel buses with diesel, Adblue, coolant and screenwash.
• Ensure nightly cleaning meets contracted standards.
• Allocate and manage staff levels including holidays.
• Update records on Agresso/Timegate.
• Record sign-in/out and arbitrate shifts.
• Conduct nightly cleaning audits (about 10% of fleet).
• Highlight issues, provide coaching and issue PMA forms if needed.
• Assist with cleaning/shunting paperwork and EOSR data.
• Collaborate with the team on a nightly basis.
• Carry out RTW interviews for returning staff and escalate as needed.
• Inform management of sickness/absence procedures.
• Brief SSOW & safety protocols and sign off risk assessments.
• Onboard new starters with site induction.
• Issue PMA forms for lateness, underperformance, or safety breaches.
• Notify management of persistent sickness for investigation.
• Report incidents via 24-hour line and Agresso.
• Ensure correct PPE/uniform and challenge non-compliance.
• Provide regular updates to line manager.
• Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Bidvest Noonan for aBus Shunting/Cleaning Supervisor, who will work at our client’s prestigious site.

Key responsibilities of a Bus Shunter/Cleaning Supervisor

• Ensure that all buses are fuelled with diesel, Adblue, Coolant and Screenwash
• Ensure all buses are cleaned up to expected standard, nightly as per the contracted specification
• Allocate and manage employee levels appropriately including managing employees holidays that also
• Needs updating on Agresso/Timegate
• Ensure employees are signing in and out correctly and arbitrating shifts on Timegate
• Carry out nightly cleaning audits (at least 10% of the fleet per week)
• Highlight poor standards, rectify issues and manage employees i.e training and feedback when necessary or PMA forms with the possibility of further action (if recurring issues arise)
• Assist with paperwork linked to cleaning & shunting. EOSR, cleaning figures needed for management purposes (28 day clean, daily cleans, fogging figures etc)
• Work alongside the cleaning & shunting team on a nightly basis where required
• Complete RTW interviews for employees in your team who are returning from sickness/absence. These will then need passing on to your line manager
• Ensure all employees are aware of the sickness/absence reporting procedure
• Ensure SSOW & Safety briefs and Risk assessments are being briefed and signed by employees
• Ensure any new starters on your team have completed the site induction pack
• Issue PMA Forms (preliminary management action) with employees who are; late, underperforming or breach health and safety protocol. This then needs reporting back to your line manager if you believe further action needs to be taken
• Inform Management of any persistent sickness that may need investigating
• Ensure any incidents or accidents are reported via the 24-hour accident line and Agresso
• Ensure all employees are wearing correct PPE/uniform and challenge those who aren’t
• Regularly report any concerns or general updates to your line manager
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification

Key requirements for a Bus Cleaning Supervisor

• UK PCV driving licence
• Minimum 1 year Supervisory experience, managing a team of Cleaners
• Have knowledge of COSHH
• Experienced working in fast paced and dynamic environment
• Working under pressure to meet deadlines
