Job summary

New College Pontefract is seeking a Cleaning & Support Staff member to maintain clean college areas according to the routine cleaning specification and to assist during college closures with non-routine tasks.

You will observe Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies, maintain confidentiality in line with Data Protection, and support safeguarding and wellbeing of students. You may be asked to undertake other duties as directed by your line manager.

Qualifications

• Be committed to safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Observe at all times confidentiality appropriate to the post and to work within Trust guidelines of Data Protection.
• Be aware of and contribute towards the implementation of Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies within your area of work.

Responsibilities

• Clean college areas as instructed by and according to the routine cleaning specification.
• Complete non-routine cleaning tasks during college closures as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Remove graffiti and report to the Cleaning Supervisor if the instance re-occurs.
• Provide additional assistance, as part of the Cleaning & Support Staff, in other areas of college further to as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Report repairs required to buildings, furniture, equipment and fittings.
• Report any light fittings that are not working properly.
• Report suspicious persons on site.
• Report any instances where a student is behaving unreasonably, rather than dealing with it yourself.
• Undertake any other duty as reasonably requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.
