Job summary

Mitie Group in Peterborough is hiring a Cleaning and Waste Operative to keep warehouse areas clean, including washrooms and canteens. You’ll handle cleaning equipment and waste disposal while following health & safety rules. Training is provided and no experience is required.

You'll work a night shift from 10 pm to 6 am, 4 days on and 2 days off, on a permanent contract with 35 hours per week. Benefits include pension contributions and holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Must complete Basic Disclosure Check.
• Possible drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Clean and tidy all warehouse areas, including washrooms and canteens.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products safely.
• Manage waste disposal and assist with health & safety policies.
• Respond to client call-outs as required.

Job description

Salary: £13.88 per hour

Hours: 35 hours weekly

Shift Pattern: 10 pm to 6 am, 4 days on 2 days off

Contract: Permanent

In your new role as a Cleaning and Waste Operative, you'll be working within a warehouse environment as part of our cleaning and waste team. Your duties will include general cleaning and tidying of all areas within the warehouse including washrooms and canteens. You'll use appropriate cleaning equipment, materials, and cleaning products. You will ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order. You'll need to react quickly to call-outs from the client and comply with all Health & Safety legislation and policies (all training will be provided). You will manage waste disposal.
