Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Cleaner at Stonelaw High School, Rutherglen, for 17.5 hours per week during term time, with shifts Monday to Friday 10.30am - 2pm. The post is temporary until 23 October 2027, paying £13.80 per hour.

• Experience in cleaning in school or public sector preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment including buffing machines.
• Reliable and punctual with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning of floors, furniture, fixtures and sanitary areas.
• Operate equipment such as buffing machines in line with schedule.
• Report to Cleaning Supervisor and maintain security as required.
• Remove refuse and ensure proper waste disposal; monitor cleaning standards.

Community & Enterprise Resources provide cleaning services in many locations and buildings across South Lanarkshire including schools, council offices and police stations.

Duties will include carrying out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc. You will be required to report to the Cleaning Supervisor.

To undertake practical tasks such as using a buffing machine to clean floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc in line with pre-determined schedule.

To ensure the security of the building is maintained, and act as a key-holder as required.

Monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulations, reporting any difficult issues to management.

Remove refuse and deal with waste ensuring appropriate disposal.
