Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is advertising a part-time Cleaning Supervisor/Cleaner role at St Paul’s Primary School, Whitehill, Hamilton, ML3 0PX. The post is 15 hours per week during term time, with 3pm–6pm, Monday to Friday.

The Cleaner rate is £13.80/hr and Supervisor rate is £14.12–£14.27/hr, temp until 31 March 2027. The successful candidate will lead a team of Facility Assistants, monitor cleaning standards (COSHH), oversee room setups for lets, manage health and safety reporting and act as

Location: St Paul's Primary School, Backmuir Road, Whitehill, Hamilton, ML3 0PX

Hours: 15 hours per week on a term time basis (You will work 7.5 hours as Cleaning Supervisor and 7.5 hours as Cleaner)

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 3pm - 6pm

Hourly Rate: £13.80 per hour (Cleaner) and £14.12 - 14.27 per hour (Cleaner Supervisor rate)

This post is temporary until 31 March 2027.

The successful candidate will carry out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc. You will also be required to monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulation, reporting any difficult issues to management.

You will be responsible for setting up rooms for lets and being the responsible person on site for reporting health and safety issues.

Supervision of a team of Facility Assistants (Cleaning), including assisting with training; recruitment & selection; maximising attendance; team brief etc.

To carry out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls.

To ensure the security of the building is maintained, and act as a key-holder as required.

Monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulations, reporting any difficult issues to management.
