Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is hiring a Cleaner to help keep the school environment clean, safe, and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. The role is 15 hours per week with specific late-afternoon shifts, joining the PVG scheme before starting, and is paid pro rata to a salary of £27,167.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Full training will be provided with a focus on health and safety and cleaning best practices.

15 Hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team and help ensure our school environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.

As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of hygiene across the school. You should be able to work independently as well as part of a wider team, demonstrate strong communication skills, and bring a flexible and positive approach to your daily tasks.

Previous experience in commercial cleaning and familiarity with cleaning equipment, materials, and associated Health & Safety requirements is desirable. Full training will be provided; however, an understanding of safe working practices would be advantageous.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 4pm-7pm

Friday: 3pm-6pm

Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme before starting. This will be arranged by North Lanarkshire Council.
