Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is inviting applications for a part-time Cleaner to maintain high cleaning standards in line with contract specifications. The role requires adherence to Health & Safety regulations and effective liaison with clients. You will work within a supportive team, handling routine duties and contributing to a clean, safe environment.

Hours are 3.30–6:00pm Monday to Thursday and 12.30–3:00pm Friday, with opportunities for training and progression within the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning environments.
  • Awareness of Chemical safety and COSHH.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out cleaning duties according to contract specifications and schedule.
  • Liaising with clients as needed.
  • Working with your team with no supervisory or budgetary responsibility.

Job Purpose

As a Cleaner, you will ensure cleaning is done according to the contract specifications and schedule. You will adhere to Health & Safety/C.O.S.H.H. regulations and maintain equipment/stock levels. You will also liaise with clients as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring cleaning is carried out as per the contract specification and work schedule.
  • Fulfilling other duties as required.
  • Working alongside your team with no supervisory responsibility.
  • Working with your team with no budgetary responsibility.
Requirements
  • Have previous experience within a cleaning environment.
  • Be aware of the use of chemicals and prioritise Health and Safety at all times.
  • Be able to understand and complete instruction when tasked.
  • Be able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Be flexible to meet the needs and demands of a changing environment.
Additional information

We are looking for someone to join our cleaning team the hours are 3.30 till 6pm Monday to Thursday and 12.30 till 3pm on a Friday
