Job summary

The Fernwood School is seeking a reliable part-time Cleaner to join our friendly team. The role covers cleaning duties across classrooms, toilets, changing rooms, offices and the wider site to maintain a safe, hygienic learning environment for pupils and staff.

You will be a team player with a positive attitude, able to work independently when required, and committed to high standards of cleanliness. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of cleaning is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Job description

The Fernwood School requires a part time cleaner to work 3 hours a day from 3.30-6.30pm on weekdays. The work involves carrying out a range of cleaning duties within classrooms, toilets, changing rooms, offices and across the site. Our team plays a vital role in providing a safe, hygienic, and effective learning environment for pupils. The main responsibilities of the role include:

• 1. To undertake cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuum cleaning, floor polishing, scrubbing, dusting, and the cleaning of touchpoints.
• 2. To use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials.
• 3. To collect and dispose of waste.

Previous experience of cleaning practices is preferred but is not essential as full training will be given. A basic understanding of cleaning processes and safe working practices and the ability to work as part of a team is required.
