Job summary

Our Lady And St Gerard's RC Primary School in Lostock Hall near Preston is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join the friendly school team. The role is 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 3.30pm-6.00pm, term time plus 4 weeks, to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team; responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, vacuuming, mopping and restocking consumables,

Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning to a high standard with health and safety knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending and standing for periods.
  • Reliable, trustworthy and committed to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Clean classrooms, corridors, offices and communal areas.
  • Vacuum, mop and dust surfaces.
  • Clean toilet facilities and replenish consumables.
  • Empty bins and maintain high cleanliness standards across the school.

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Cleaner to join our friendly school team.

15 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 3.30pm-6.00pm
Term time plus 4 weeks.

This is an important role within our school community, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors. You will be part of a cleaning team with allocated areas within school.

  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the school.

Essential Experience
  • Experience of carrying out cleaning duties to a high standard with good understanding of health and safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively and ability to follow cleaning schedules and instructions.
  • Physically able to undertake cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending and standing for periods of time.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous cleaning experience in a school, nursery, college or other educational setting and inusing professional cleaning equipment and products.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe storage of cleaning materials.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within a school environment including site security.
  • Relevant cleaning or health and safety qualifications/training.
