Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a dedicated Cleaner for a part-time shift in Newcastle. The role runs 06:30–08:30, Monday to Friday, totaling 12.5 hours per week, with a focus on safe, clean and welcoming environments for residents, staff and visitors. You will join a dedicated team at Victoria House delivering essential cleaning support.

Responsibilities

• Take pride in completing scheduled cleaning tasks to a high standard.
• Carry out periodic deep cleans to keep environments fresh and hygienic.
• Keep kitchens, toilets and communal areas clean, tidy and presentable.
• Monitor and replenish essential supplies (toilet tissue, soap, consumables).
• Work with security team and report faults or hazards promptly.
• Support the team by maintaining clean working areas.
• Bring a friendly and professional attitude to create a positive environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Take ownership of responsibilities and pride in the difference your work makes daily.

What you'll do:

• Take pride in your work by completing scheduled cleaning tasks to a consistently high standard.
• Carry out periodic deep cleans as required, helping to keep the environment fresh, hygienic and welcoming.
• Keep kitchens, toilets, communal areas and other facilities clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
• Monitor and replenish essential supplies, including toilet tissue, hand soap and other consumables.
• Work closely with the security team, building positive relationships and reporting any faults, maintenance issues or potential hazards promptly.
• Support the wider team by helping to maintain clean and presentable working areas.
• Bring a friendly, approachable and professional attitude to your work, helping to create a positive environment for residents, colleagues and visitors.
• Take ownership of your responsibilities and be proud of the difference your work makes every day

What you bring:

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided, including cleaning products, equipment and health and safety.
• A friendly, approachable attitude with good communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards and adapting to changing priorities.
