Job summary

The Forest School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated part-time cleaner to join a friendly team. You will perform daily cleaning duties across classrooms, offices and washrooms, keeping facilities fresh, tidy and welcoming for pupils and staff.

This role is 20 hours per week over 43 weeks per year, paying £12.85 per hour. Training is provided, with clear health and safety guidance. You will contribute to a safe learning environment and support the school community.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required for the role.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Willingness to perform physical cleaning duties.
  • Commitment to creating a safe environment for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Keep classrooms, offices and washrooms clean and tidy.
  • Carry out sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and bin emptying.
  • Sanitise washrooms and keep hygiene supplies stocked.
  • Use cleaning equipment safely; follow Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
  • Occasionally perform deep cleans during school holidays.
  • Lock/unlock the site and help keep premises secure.
  • Demonstrate reliability and teamwork in a school setting.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Working as part of a friendly team, you will keep classrooms, offices and washrooms fresh and tidy.
  • Carrying out everyday cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying bins.
  • Sanitising washrooms and keeping hygiene supplies (soap, paper towels) fully stocked.
  • Using cleaning equipment and products safely (we will teach you all the Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines).
  • Carrying out occasional deep cleans during school holiday periods.
  • Helping lock or unlock the site and keeping the school premises secure.
  • A reliable, hardworking individual who takes pride in a job well done.
  • Someone comfortable doing physical work (lifting, carrying and active movement).
  • A great team player who can also work well independently and follow instructions.
  • Someone committed to creating a safe environment for pupils and staff.
