Job summary

Lift Hockley is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our warm and friendly team, supporting a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff. The role covers classrooms, offices, and shared spaces with early-morning duties.

You will be responsible for cleaning tasks, maintaining high standards, and following health and safety procedures during school hours. Prior cleaning experience is required and COSHH knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of cleaning and using cleaning equipment is required.
• Experience in a similar environment and knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH regulations and cleaning best practice would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, vacuum, polish and dust across different areas of the school.
• Empty bins and keep classrooms, offices and communal areas clean and tidy.
• Replenish items such as hand towels, toilet rolls, hand soap and bin liners.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and correctly.
• Support planned deep cleaning during school closure periods.
• Report maintenance, health and safety or stock issues to the appropriate team member.
• Complete relevant training and follow health and safety procedures.

Are you the missing link to our warm and friendly cleaning team?

We're looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Cleaner to join our team at Lift Hockley, helping us provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where our pupils can learn and our staff can do their best work.

About the role

As a Cleaner, you'll play an important part in the day-to-day running of our school. You'll help ensure our classrooms, offices and shared spaces are maintained to a high standard, creating an environment that our pupils and colleagues can be proud of.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing and dusting across different areas of the school.
• Emptying bins and helping to keep classrooms, offices and communal areas clean and tidy.
• Replenishing items such as hand towels, toilet rolls, hand soap and bin liners.
• Using cleaning materials and equipment safely and correctly.
• Supporting planned deep cleaning during school closure periods.
• Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or stock issues to the appropriate member of the school team.
• Completing relevant training and following our health and safety procedures.
